Painted in Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves & Sheep Canyon Anza Borrego Desert, CA. There are two female forms dancing on the right which double as mountain landscapes. This piece also reckons back to my material science roots with the incorporation of well defined slip planes between different phases (in the case red and tan colors) of matter. Slip planes are inherent in all crystalline matter and make up areas where mechanical properties cannot be predicted. Think of them as microscopic fault lines where free energy is expended.
